About Us

Perfect place to create life long memories with your family

Welcome to Beaches at Pinecone Park situated on the beautiful, sandy shores of Round Lake near Killaloe, Ontario. We the owners and hosts, Todd and Scherry, are very happy to have you visit our site!

From a very young age, we both developed a life-long passion for the lake as we both were fortunate to be able to call Round Lake our summer homes while growing up. Scherry’s parents are a part of the park’s strong history. Scherry’s Dad, Garry Risto, a masonry contractor was travelling through the area in the early 80’s and spotted a new house build going up and stopped in to see if park developer, Roy Kuehl, needed a contractor to brick the house. From that point Scherry’s family started camping as seasonal campers and never left. Todd also grew up at Round Lake from a young age and spent most of his summers at his families’ property on the lake.

Todd and Scherry met in 1991 and from that time onward they have both created fond memories of the lake and the park together. In 2009 Todd and Scherry entered a partnership to purchase Pinecone Park at which time we changed the name to Beaches at Pinecone Park. The park has some wonderful history that goes back to when the lakefront cottage (believed to be the first cottage on the lake) was built by the Burke family in the 1930’s (first Optometrist in Killaloe during 1920’s). We are proud to be part of the history in our area and hope to be able to share our property and to continue to bring life long memories to many families in the years to come and into our retirement.

Our private, family owned and operated campground is located just 30 minutes from Pembroke. We offer 550 feet of beautiful sandy beach with scenic views of one of the cleanest lakes in the Ottawa Valley. The lake is fed by the Bonnechere and Sherwood Rivers.

As you look across the lake it is 5 kilometres to Foy’s Provincial Park directly across on the other side. The lake is 7 ½ kilometres long and the deepest spot is 180 feet deep! With a sandy bottom that slopes down gradually, it is a favourite for many swimming, boating and fishing enthusiasts.

We have two 3-bedroom cottages, 1-bedroom apartment, and spacious tent and trailer sites and provide a variety of amenities. Our summer oasis offers tranquility at its best where your family can unplug and reconnect to create fantastic summer memories to last a lifetime (sorry no internet — come camp and enjoy nature at its best). Sit back and enjoy your surroundings, enjoy a night-time fire while listening to the loons in the not too far distance, read by the beach, sunbathe in your lounge chair, have a nice cold beverage on your private deck, enjoy motorized water sports on one of the calmest parts of the lake, take a nice refreshing swim or just float in the lake.

There are many nearby attractions including Algonquin Provincial Park, hiking trails such as the famous Barron Canyon, golf courses (this one is in Killaloe, just a short drive away), Bonnechere Caves, Wilderness Tours, River Run, Owl Rafting, museums, horseback riding, ATV trails, ATV tours, bike tours and more!

We strive to maintain a “quiet, family atmosphere” while providing quality, affordable prices and excellent customer service.

Contact us to see if our campground is the right fit for you and your family to enjoy recreational camping.

Your hosts,
Todd and Scherry Sylvestre
